In Store Tasting 1/29: 2008 Bodegas Emilio Moro Finca Resalso

Today we are trying the 2008 Bodegas Emilio Moro Finca Resalso from the Ribera Del Duero region in Spain. Wine Advocate gave this 90 points and said “It over-delivers in a big way.” This has a very nice nose of flowers, leather and cherry. On the palate it has flavors of sour cherry, earth and licorice that leads to a nice long finish. A very pleasant drinking experience.

In Store Tasting 1/15: 2007 Three Thieves “The Show” Cabernet Sauvignon

Today we are trying Three Thieves 2007 “The Show” Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of you my recognize the name Gott on the bottle from the Joel Gott brand of wines or from his famous Gotts Roadside Burgers in Napa Valley.  They say on the label this wine is “a pure, unapologetic expression of California Cabernet Sauvignon” and that is the truth. Pleasant raspberry and toasty oak aromas are met by flavors of  sweet fruit with a nice amount of structure and finish.  A very nice value and a party pleaser!

In Store Tasting 1/8: 2009 Gouguenheim Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza

Today we are trying the 2009 Gouguenheim Cabernet Sauvignon Valle Escondido from Mendoza, Argentina. Wine Advocate gave this 89 points and I can see why. Pleasant aromas of black berry and dark fruits give way to flavors of raspberry and boysenberry. It ends with long finish, something you would not expect from an entry level bottle. Great for the money!
